Composing

Composing

I have previously composed music for both theatre, film, role-plays, art exhibitions, computer games and more. Not all of these have been related to themes or sounds of the viking age, but some of them have - and I would like to present a few of them here.

When I work on projects like this there are more things to consider than authenticity only. The sounds and the music should not merely paint a picture of the viking age but also create moods and support the actions.

The goal of these projects is always to steer a middle course between the dramaturgical composition and the demands of authenticity, so that the result will be as good as possible in both directions.

I try to use authentic instruments as much as possible, but the way I use them might at times stray from what we assume to know about how the vikings used their instruments.

Here you can take a closer look at some of the projects I have worked on / am working on. Click on the title for more information.
